Quality of Life
Joie de vivre and friendliness are the characteristic features of Saxony and its inhabitants. Here, living and working are a real pleasure. In fact, Saxony’s state capital Dresden was actually elected the city with the highest quality of life in all of Europe by Manager-Magazin in 2005.
Quality which doesn’t necessarily have to be expensive: The cost of living in Saxony is among the lowest in all of Europe.

And when it comes to quality of life, Manager-Magazin awarded 100 out of 100 possible points to the Saxon state capital in its European City Ranking 2005/2006. The quality of life is also distinctly characterized by Dresden’s surrounding region. Numerous cultural highlights in Meißen County such as, for example, the vineyards in Radebeul, the Elbe River Bike Path, and the palatial hunting lodge Moritzburg Castle certainly had a positive influence on the ranking.
